Dr. Jaakko Erkinaro is a Research Professor with the Natural Resources Institute Finland. He is involved in national and international monitoring and research programs on wild Atlantic salmon rivers in the Barents Sea area, and also in restoration programs on anadromous salmonids in regulated rivers in the Baltic Sea area. His fields of research cover both freshwater and marine life stages of salmonid fishes, for which he has published >100 peer-reviewed scientific articles. He is involved in several expert groups of advisory organizations including ICES, NASCO, and the Arctic Council.
